Pet Health Plan Explanation

Ok, so I guess a lot of pet owners believe pet insurance works just like their own health insurance. However it doesn't. A pet health plan actually works as a reimbursement; you take your pet to the vet, pay the bill, and then after submitting your claim the insurance company cuts you a check. It is wise to know exactly what your pet insurance covers because your claim could be denied if the procedure was over the limit or not written in the coverage at all. Recently pet insurance has gotten better; most plans use to only cover emergencies and not preventative care.
